What You Need to Know

As of 6:30 a.m. today, Denver Health had 12 inpatient COVID-19 cases (+2 from yesterday).

For more information, visit the Denver Public Health COVID-19 Data Summary (use Edge or Chrome). The website is updated daily and contains data on cases, hospitalization, deaths, testing and symptoms.

NEW: Denver Health Vaccination Numbers

Staff vaccination numbers were updated at 4 p.m. today.

  • 6,842 employees (+ affiliated staff/contractors) and residents/students have received their first dose of vaccine.

  • 6,509 employees (+ affiliated staff/contractors) and residents/students have received their second dose of vaccine.

In total, Denver Health has administered 77,025 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to staff, patients and members of the public who are eligible according to State guidelines.

NEW: Vaccine Eligibility Expands to 1.B.4 tomorrow (March 19, 2021)

The state is opening another phase of eligibility for COVID-19 vaccinations. Effective tomorrow, people who fall into phase 1.B.4. will be eligible to receive the vaccination. This phase includes people age 50 and older; frontline essential workers including restaurant/food services, higher education, public health workers and manufacturing; as well as people age 16- 49 with a high-risk condition. You can find more details on the 1.B.4 phase here.

NEW: Huddle Sheets to be Published Bi-Weekly on The Pulse (Effective today)

Due to a continued decline in new daily COVID-19-related information, Daily Huddle Sheet communications will be published bi-weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Incident Command was re-established several months ago when our COVID-19 inpatients exceeded 35. For several weeks now our daily hospitalization rate has significantly dropped to the low teens.

You can always find information about COVID-19 and vaccinations on the COVID-19 subsite on The Pulse. You can also find the latest epidemiology numbers for Denver and Colorado on that subsite. In addition, we will share important communications about COVID-19 clinical updates, safety, vaccinations in the 411 weekly newsletter every Thursday.

REMINDER: COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics Officially Move to Pavilion M

Denver Health has a new location for our COVID-19 vaccination clinics. We are now using Pavilion M as our primary vaccination clinic. We are no longer holding vaccination clinics in Pavilion C or the Physical and Occupational Therapy section on the 6th floor of the Outpatient Medical Center (OMC). PT and OT are officially moving into their new space at the OMC next week and will begin seeing patients there.

We believe the space on the second floor in Pavilion M is ideal because it’s empty now that the Gastroenterology department has moved to the OMC. There should be no interruptions in this location, and we should be able to stage vaccination clinics there for the foreseeable future. The typical hours of operation will be 8AM-4PM Wednesday-Saturday (depending on vaccine availability).

REMINDER: Additional Dates Available for RISE Group Support for Grief & Loss

RISE Group Support for Grief & Loss

One year ago, we all had to unexpectedly and dramatically alter the way we live. Across this year of pain and disruption, many of us have been navigating various forms of loss, including, but not limited to, the death of patients, colleagues and loved ones; the loss of “normalcy” of the rhythm of our lives; the loss of dreams and expectations; and the loss of connection to family and friends with relationships defined by distance. RISE Group Support can provide a dedicated and emotionally safe space to discuss the ways in which we are personally impacted. All Denver Health personnel (clinical and nonclinical, patient-facing and non-patient facing, trainees and employees, contractors and volunteers) are welcome and group content is confidential. Please register in advance. Links are provided below. Alternatively, you may email dhrise@dhha.org with a request to be registered.
