NEW: Epidemiology Data and Notes

As of 6:30 AM Denver Health has 9 COVID-19 Patients, 7 are on the Floor, 2 in the ICU, and 1 on a ventilator.

NEW: New Mask Guidance in Effect, Updated Masking FAQ Linked

Denver Health has returned to voluntary masking for vaccinated employees, starting this week, in non-patient facing areas.

Please note that in the updated Masking FAQ here there are two key changes:

1. The Good Day Café remains an ON-STAGE area when purchasing food. That means that unless you are eating at a table, you are required to mask. This is a patient and visitor facing area within the hospital so please be respectful and continue to mask as you grab your beverage or meal.

2. Leaders are now in charge of determining what additional options they will provide for meetings. This means that a WebEx option is no longer required for all meetings. Instead, leaders may choose additional meeting options if necessary, such as phone or Webex.

As a reminder:

Non-patient-facing areas in the hospital and clinics include places like breakrooms and huddle rooms. This policy also applies for our administrative buildings. We came to this decision after reviewing the data for what’s happening with our employees, in the hospital and in our community.

We acknowledge that people will have different levels of comfort with this change and encourage employees to adopt a masking practice that is right for them. Employees who have exemptions for vaccination are required to wear a mask in all areas for their safety and the safety of others. If you have any questions or concerns about the masking requirements, please reach out to your leader or email

** If you are asked to mask by a staff member throughout the hospital in a patient/visitor facing area or a clinical area please be respectful and mask. If you have further questions or concerns about the area please reach out to your direct supervisor or the
