Pavilion A Southeast Staff Entrance is Open

Starting today, the Pavilion A southeast staff entrance (near the loading dock) is open for badged employees who have been screened. Since there is no screening station at this entrance, staff are required to be screened by a Denver Health screener at another entrance. You must have a valid entry sticker with the current day's date prior to entering this door. Entry screening requirements remain in place, and all Denver Health staff and providers are required to present to a screening station prior to entering any Denver Health clinical building.

Updated COVID-19 FAQ

The COVID-19 FAQ for Patients and Community members was updated this week to include information on a small occurence of pediatric myocarditis, inflammation of the heart muscle, within children who have received a vaccination in the United States. Information about pediatric myocarditis, what to look for and how to monitor patients is now available in the FAQ, linked here in English and Spanish.

In addition, Denver Health has created an FAQ answering questions on common COVID-19 vaccine myths. This FAQ can be printed for patient encounters and provided within clinics to address common misconceptions. Here’s the Debunking COVID-19 Myths FAQ.

New Protocol for Inpatient COVID-19 Testing

Beginning later this week, routine COVID-19 testing for patients being admitted to the hospital who are fully vaccinated and do not have symptoms of COVID-19 will be discontinued. The COVID-19 vaccine is highly effective at preventing COVID-19 infection, and the rate of COVID-19 in the community has fallen dramatically; therefore, testing patients who are fully vaccinated and without symptoms of COVID-19 is no longer warranted. We have already discontinued pre-procedure COVID-19 testing for patients who are fully vaccinated. Patients who are not fully vaccinated or have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 will continue to be tested upon admission. Please look for a separate email later today with more information.
