• The leave does not replenish. Once you have used all of the time that you are eligible for, any additional absences are taken unpaid, or paid through the use of PTO.
  • Absences must occur between July 15, 2020 and December 31, 2020.
  • The act is retroactive and covers absences occurring from July 15, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
  • All Denver Health employees are eligible; including full time, part time, residents and intermittent employees. Contract staff are not eligible.
  • Leave is paid at regular hourly pay rate, and does not include shift differential or other incentive pay.
  • This process will be in place until 12/31/2020. We are working on processes to comply with the Act in 2021, these will be communicated at a later date.
  • The amount of paid time the employee is eligible for is based on their FTE status. For example an employee that is a 1.0 FTE would receive up to 80 hours of paid time off. An employee that was a .75 FTE would be eligible for up to 60 hours of paid time off. An employee who is intermittent (INT) is eligible to receive compensation for the actual shifts missed. If this information is not available, we will calculate the hours using the numerical average of the 2 weeks just prior to the employees’ absence.
  • You can use the leave in increments of time down to 15 minutes. (it does not need to be used all at once).
