You may have seen or heard about a story in the media concerning the salaries and incentive compensation of the Denver Health leadership team. I believe deeply in applying fair and consistent policies for everyone, including in the way we set compensation.
In the spirit of fairness, I have asked everyone at Denver Health to make a contribution that will help us to sustain the organization during these challenging times. Everyone must make a contribution including all of the leadership team and me.
The leadership group has already started taking some combination of unpaid furlough, PTO, and waiving PTO accrual. Executives may also make donations to the Foundation. Personally, I am using PTO in lieu of regular salary and I am waiving PTO accrual. I am pleased to say that the entire leadership team is giving back in some way.
We are now into the seventh week of responding to the COVID-19 crisis. Thank you for the sacrifices you have made and the long, difficult hours you are working to care for our community.
